Residing in Athens, Ohio, Mary Reed specializes in outdoor adventure and environmental reporting. Her writing and/or photography has appeared in Backpacker, Earth First! Journal, Mountainfreak, Ohio Magazine, Orion Afield and other publications. She has authored another FalconGuide, Hiking Ohio and did all the photography and revising for the second edition of Hiking West Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Ohio University’s School of Journalism in 1990 and her Master of Arts in Political Science, also from Ohio University, in 1993.
