In The Mothman Prophecies, John Keel looks at the frightening events which took place during a thirteen month period in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Homes were plagued with ghostly noises and apparitions. Mysterious lights were seen in the night, while animals were slaughtered and TV sets and phone lines ran amok. Perhaps the most frightening of all were the sightings of a strange winged creature, dubbed Mothman. A subsequent local tragedy caused Point Pleasant to become the focus of worldwide attention. The recent movie starring Richard Gere was based on this book.
